Chalk artist Francois Pelletier is a modern day Madonnari. Translated into English, Madonnari simply means Street Painter. The old tradition originated in Italy hundreds of years ago. Madonnaries drew images of the Madonna on streets, sidewalks, and town squares using chalk.

Just like the Madonnaries who went before him, Francois too travels and draws, surviving only on the donations he receives from the public. If you wish to hire Francois for your special event he can be reached at: frapelletier@hotmail.com.
